In the first half of 2007 Centrum C-Law.org was involved in pan-European BRITE project. C-Law’s representative, Ms. Katarzyna Stuczynska
served as a local coordinator for the Polish part of the project, the purpose of which was to establish and register a branch of UK-incorporated private limited company in Poland in order to practically examine the compliance of Polish authorities with the principle of freedom of establishment as interpreted by the ECJ.
Essentially the goal of the project was to measure three elements of cost for an entrepreneur who wanted to make an “incorporation round trip” to the United Kingdom and back to his or her home country:
- Number and type of required procedures
- Cost of each administrative procedure
- Time required for each administrative procedure
The study is a part of a pan-European BRITE project conducted under the aegis of the European Commission (DG Information Society & Media).
